Our founder, Margaret, is also a practicing attorney who has focused her practice on child welfare. During one of her very first cases, there was a preteen who began having supervised visits with her mother at the local McDonald’s. The child said it was embarrassing and uncomfortable to have the visits with her mother, even though she missed her very much, because everyone in town knew why they were at the McDonald’s. Ever since that case, Margaret has had it in mind to create a HOME where supervised visits could occur. That led to the creation of The Eden Center. Additionally, she recognized that her clients were having to travel out of county for parenting education classes and other services. This creates a barrier to reunification. Therefore, we added parenting education, among other classes. Whatever it takes to safely reunite families!
