Safe House.

If the Department of Children’s Services makes the difficult decision to remove a child from their home and bring them into custody, the case worker begins the task of looking for placement for the children. This can be a quick process or it can take many hours or even days, depending on the child’s needs or availability of open foster homes. While placement is found, the children often wait in the DCS office.

However, now Cheatham County children can wait at the Eden Center. While there, we have volunteers who will prepare food for the children and the case worker and can help occupy and love on the children while the case worker calls placement options.

We also have clothing, toiletries, and other essentials for the children to take with them to their foster home.
