For many years, Cheatham County had the highest overdoes rate in the state of Tennessee. The tide has slowly began to turn. However, if we do not intervene with our children when they face addiction, our progress will be for nought. When we saw how many youth were coming to Juvenile Court due to possession charges, we knew we needed to do something. With a generous grant from The Quintenn Clark Foundation, we are now able to offer youth addiction prevention programming.

The class is led by Dr. Charles Williams, a former level five classroom teacher who is now the Academic Specialist for Harpth High School. Through evidence based curriculum (Toward No Drugs), guest speakers, and thought provoking conversation, our students are challenged to think differently about addiction and learn how they can avoid falling victim to Substance Use Disorder.
